Fillmore Street Jazz Festival San Francisco

The Fillmore Jazz Festival, held along several blocks of Fillmore Street in San Francisco each year, draws tens of thousands of music, food and culture lovers. The Festival is the largest free jazz festival on the west coast.

During World War II, dozens of Fillmore Street jazz clubs hosted major musical talents, including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, John Handy and others.

The spirit of this time was revived in 1985 when the first Fillmore Jazz Festival was held.

All along Fillmore Street today are music clubs, shops and restaurants.
