Oregon has the largest collection of covered bridges in the West, and Lane County, where Eugene is located has more covered bridges than any other county west of the Mississippi.

Several beautiful covered bridges are located just south of Eugene, near the community of Cottage Grove.

Of all the covered bridges in Lane County, though, the favorite for many is the Goodpasture Island bridge, located about 25 miles east of Eugene, along the beautiful McKenzie River.
