The Oregon Bach Festival is one of the highlights of the year for the community of Eugene.  The Wall Street Journal has called the Oregon Bach Festival “one of the world’s leading music festivals.”

Including major performances of Bach, the festival also features diverse concerts by a wide variety of guest artists.  Many of the activities of the festival center around Eugene’s Hult Center for the Performing Arts, in downtown Eugene.  The festival is held in late June and early July each year.

The festival was founded in 1970 by the German conductor Helmuth Rilling, who still leads major Bach works during the festival, and who also conducts a master conducting course that draws participants from around the world.

Eugene calls itself the “greatest city of the arts and the outdoors”, and the Oregon Bach Festival is a part of that heritage.
