One of the highlights of the University is the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, located on campus.  The Museum opened to the public in 1933, and was originally built to house the Murray Warner Collection of Oriental Art – more than 3,700 works of art given to the University by Gertrude Bass Warner.  The museum holds extensive selections of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and American art.

Because of the number of students and professors at the University of Oregon, the area around the University is one of the more desirable areas for homes in Eugene.
