The river runs fast at certain points, a challenge for experienced rafters and kayakers.  But large stretches of the river are easily navigable; and if you want to take friends or family on a two or three hour float down the river, there are experienced rafting guides for hire who will take you out for a beautiful morning or afternoon on the river.

Renowned for fishing, the McKenzie River supports spring Chinook salmon, winter steelhead and summer steelhead as well as native rainbow, cutthroat and bull trout, making it a fisherman’s paradise.
