Where is the best place to live in the San Francisco Bay Area?
If you are thinking of relocating or moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, you probably know that we are talking about much more than the city of San Francisco.
This is an extraordinary, diverse patchwork of towns and cities and landscapes, surrounding one of the great cities of the world.
There is, of course, San Francisco itself, with many different neighborhoods, each with its own unique character, sometimes only a block or two from its equally distinct neighbor. The flavor of each carries over into its restaurants and shops and quality and prices of real estate and homes.
One of these neighborhoods, for example, is Noe Valley.
But choices of where to live go way beyond San Francisco itself. There is the East Bay, with dynamic Oakland, and Berkeley, home to the University of California. There is Marin County, just north of San Francisco, with Sausalito and its houseboats, and opulent Tiburon, or the lovely small towns like Mill Valley and Larkspur. There is Sonoma County and Napa County, and wide open lovely wine country, all within reasonable driving distance of the City.
